Make the Connection

 

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with Maketheconnection.net to provide mental health resources to veterans in our community.

Make the Connection is a FREE resource to all veterans across the United States. Their goal is to destigmatize mental health treatment and help veterans overcome their struggles by providing them with stories similar to their own. The organization is funded through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and provides numerous, veteran specific mental health resources including but not limited to:

Chester County Sheriff’s Office Veteran Staff

  1. An extensive series of videos featuring veterans and their families talking about struggles of service, adjustments after combat, PTSD and more.

    a. The videos are broken down by gender, branch of service, era of service, etc.

  2. Advice on how to best handle a variety of life challenges, opportunities and experiences after leaving the service.

  3. Signs and symptoms for a variety of mental health conditions to help veterans or their families better understand their current condition.

  4. Detailed information for a variety of specific mental health disorders and how to best seek treatment.

  5. A local support search function to allow veterans and families to find nearby organizations that can support them in their struggles.
